You Only have One Life, Be Brave

“You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, ‘I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.’ You must do the thing you think you cannot do.”

—Eleanor Roosevelt—

What would you do if you weren’t afraid? Life is too short to live in fear. Fear is a cage that significantly cripples our personal growth. This cage built out of self-doubt and past pain prohibits you from becoming the person you are intended to be. You will never reach your full potential if you let fear dictate your decisions. When was the last time you did something that scared you? Not because you were forced into a situation, but because you wanted to look your fear in the eye and not let it win.

Here is my challenge for you, ladies. Pick something every day that scares you and do it. Whether it is big or small, your confidence in your capabilities will sky rocket. Are you scared of failing? Let me tell you a secret, we all are.   But you know what is worse then failing- doing nothing. Sometimes we find some of our greatest blessings in the midst of facing our fears. Maybe tomorrow you will decide to talk to the person who never smiles back at you. Maybe you will do a box jump for the first time. Whatever it is, don’t let fear be the reason you didn’t try it. You are strong, capable and stunning. Fear is weak, blinding and ugly. Now, let’s have a positive and productive week! Be brave.
