Hello Darlings…

You’ve done it!  You are at Vie and learning new things every day.  You can now do box jumps/step-ups, push-ups and you have even tried your first assisted pull-up.  This is AWESOME!  The only problem is you can’t brush your teeth the next morning and lowering yourself onto a chair becomes an event because you are so sore- not so awesome.  We want you to embrace being sore and the process of becoming strong, however that doesn’t mean we have to go about it the hard way.  We want to give you our simple Vie Recovery Cocktail.  No, it’s not going to make you the life of the party, but it’s going to help you at least get to the party!

  1. First Ingredient is good old fashioned rest.  Getting ample sleep can help your body recover faster.  Easier said then done for all you moms and busy bees.  Take care of yourself :).  It’s not selfish.
  2. Fish oil is our second cocktail ingredient (capsule form).  A lot of people smarter than us have found that in addition to reducing exercise-induced inflammation, fish oil supplementation has also been shown to reduce exercise-induced muscle soreness and thus aid the recovery process. You don’t have to be a fish lover to be able to take a little pill ;).
  3. Active Recovery– The worst thing you can do is do a hard workout, be horribly sore the next day, and then do nothing the next three days.  Come back to Vie and get another workout in!  Go at your own pace and work out the kinks.  You might not agree with this piece of advice during the warm-up, but by the end of the workout when we are doing your cool-down you will be thanking us.
  4. Last ingredient is water.  Are you tired of hearing us say ‘drink your water’ for our hydration challenge?  We hope not because it’s helping with a lot more than you might even realize!  Drink it up and flush at all those yucky toxins you built up in the workout.

Ladies, we are so unbelievably and incredibly proud of your work ethic and acts of kindness to all those who walk in our doors.  Being strong and healthy is just as important as how we treat each other.  We are so blessed by your presence.  Keep up the hard work.  We can do it together!

    Vie has been one of the most positive experiences of my adult life, also one of the hardest. I wouldn’t change a thing, the staff is amazing and they foster a positive environment. Who could ask for more?

    I’ve only been to 4 workouts, but I really like the atmosphere and coaches. The workouts can be challenging, but I feel stronger already.
