We’ve asked Certified Nutritionist and Vie Coach, Carly Cameron, to share some of her favorite summer cocktails. Featuring fruits, tea and even some herbs, each of Carly’s drinks has a different vibe. Not only are these drinks beautiful and delicious, but they are calorie-conscious too.

Summer is upon us, and there is nothing quite like a cool, refreshing beverage to celebrate the season. We’ve asked Certified Nutritionist and Vie Coach, Carly Cameron, to share some of her favorite summer cocktails. Not only are these drinks beautiful and delicious, but they are calorie-conscious too. They also make great mocktails if you want to skip the alcohol. 

Featuring fruits, tea and even some herbs, each of Carly’s drinks has a different vibe. Don’t forget the garnish to make them extra Insta-worthy. To reduce the calorie count even further, simply swap any normal juices for sugar free.

Sparkling Rose Grapefruit Margarita

Sparkling Rosé Grapefruit Margarita

Servings: 1   |  Prep time: 6 min.

INGREDIENTS

2.5 oz. grapefruit juice

1 tsp. fresh squeezed lime juice

1/2 tsp. honey or simple syrup

3 oz. sparkling Rosé

1 oz. tequila

salt for rim

Rosemary sprig for garnish (optional)

DIRECTIONS

  1. First, rub your margarita glasses with a lime wedge to get the rim wet. Dip the rim into the crushed salt.
  2. Fill the glass with crushed ice.
  3. Add the grapefruit juice, lime juice, sweetener & tequila to a cocktail shaker. Give it a good stir.
  4. Add the sparkling Rosé to the mixture.
  5. Pour the mixture over the ice.
  6. Garnish with a slice of lime (or grapefruit) and a sprig of Rosemary.

Pomegranate Party Punch

Pomegranate Party Punch

Servings: 1   |  Prep time: 5 min.

INGREDIENTS

1 cup sparkling wine

1.5 oz. pomegranate juice

I tsp. sugar

2 large orange slices

pomegranate arils

ice

fresh mint

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a large pitcher mix the sparkling wine with the pomegranate juice and sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Add the orange slices and pomegranate arils. Mix again.
  3. Add the ice just before serving.
  4. At the last minute add the mint. It will over-power your drink if you add it too soon.
  5. Stir well.

Skinny Mojito

Skinny Mojito

Servings: 1   |  Prep time: 3 min.

INGREDIENTS

½ lime quartered or
1 oz. (2 tbsp.) fresh-squeezed lime juice

5 mint leaves

1 cup ice

1 oz. rum

½ cup club soda

 

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a glass, muddle lime and mint.
  2. Pour rum over lime and mint.
  3. Add ice.
  4. Top off with club soda.
  5. Stir.
  6. Garnish with a lime slice and/or a sprig of fresh mint.

Dirty Arnold Palmer

Dirty Arnold Palmer

Servings: 1   |  Prep time: 3 min.

INGREDIENTS

1/2 cup prepared unsweetened iced tea

1/2 cup lemonade

1.5 oz. vodka

lemon wedge/slice

mint

 

DIRECTIONS

  1. Add iced tea, lemonade, and vodka in a tall cocktail glass and stir to combine.
  2. Add ice to the glass and stir.
  3. If desired, add a lemon wedge and mint.
  4. Serve immediately.
