Hello, Turkeys!

The last month of Autumn – the beginning of a new adventure.

Meal Prep Recipes For November 2017

Tis the hardest season to find balanced nutrition and quality recipes that don’t leave you carbohydrate overloaded. We know holiday traditions bring forth all our favorite nostalgic treats, however, our bodies need more than these goodies to sustain us through our workouts. We are here to help! We’ve compiled two recipes a week, with all dietary lifestyles in consideration. So this season, celebrate family with a wonderful meal and a glass of wine.  On all the other days, let’s eat clean.  Balance looks different season to season.

Basic nutrition guidelines to help (female) portion control during the holiday season:

The palm of your hand = a serving of protein.
Your fist = a serving of vegetables.
Cupped hand = a serving of carbs.
Your thumb = a serving of fat.
Moderation is key. Make good choices, one meal at a time.

{week one}

Easy Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup (No Chopping) + Video – Kristine’s Kitchen

Not only is this Easy Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup simple to make, it’s also a family favorite! With a step by step how to recipe video. This recipe was a hit. With me, with the hubby, and with the kids. It’s going to be on repeat for the rest of the fall and winter season, I’ve decided!

Clean Eating Turkey and Sweet Potato Shepherd’s Pie – Not Enough Cinnamon

Jump to Recipe Print Recipe Fancy a cozy, comforting casserole that doesn’t break the calorie bank? I’ve got you covered, girl! I’ve upgraded the traditional Shepherd’s pie to make it more nutritious, and good news, it definitely still rhymes with delicious! For the mash (my favorite part!)

{week two}

Meal Prep Baked Lime Chicken Bowls – Yummy Healthy Easy

Be prepared to eat healthy for the week by making your meals in advance! These Meal Prep Baked Lime Chicken Bowls are not just healthy but are also delicious! Chicken breasts are cubed and marinated in a chili-lime marinade and then baked. Pair with quinoa and green beans for yummy make-ahead healthy meals!

Crock Pot Black Bean Lentil Quinoa Chili – Colorful Recipes

So here’s the deal: It’s freaking COLD outside. Like waaaaay too cold. And it’s about to get even colder. It’s going to be a whopping 6 degrees this Saturday. I’m looking forward to bundling up and cuddling with my boys under kitchen table tents.

{week three}

Buffalo Chicken Quinoa Bowls

Buffalo Chicken Quinoa Bowls topped with avocado, tomato, shredded buffalo chicken, drizzled with ranch and served on a bed of quinoa. Football food just got a healthy facelift! This past Sunday I sat in my chair looking up at the stage in the elementary school we hold our new church.

Spicy Caribbean Mahi Mahi

My grandparents are from the islands, Martinique, little French island in the Lesser Antilles. Our family dinners are largely influenced by the regional fare from that little outpost plopped in the middle of an azure blue sea. Finally, Spicy Caribbean Mahi-Mahi is a prime example of that.

{week four}

Meal Prep Balsamic Tempeh & Roasted Vegetable Quinoa Bowls – Simply Quinoa

Meal prep made easy with these balsamic tempeh and roasted vegetable quinoa bowls! You just need one pan, 30 minutes and your lunches are done for the week! For some strange reason, I’ve been resistant to the idea of sheet pan meals. While that has been true, I believe quite the opposite now.

Ground Turkey Sweet Potato Skillet – Primavera Kitchen

This gluten-free and low-fat Ground Turkey Sweet Potato Skillet will be ready to dig in less than 30 mins and you will be amazed by the flavor of it. It’s a perfect ONE-PAN meal for your family to enjoy! Finally, I’m feeling ready for the upcoming holiday season!
